Black & White For The Holidays

Happy, happy Friday! I have a busy weekend planned – I’m sure you all do to. My inside Christmas decorating is almost finished, I just have a few more tweaks. I’d like to work on the outside of my house this weekend, so it will be done by Thanksgiving. On top of that, I must get my Thanksgiving menu planned and purchase groceries for Thanksgiving. Our menu is usually the same, but I try to add a salad or one other side dish that is new for that year.

Our small town has a wonderful Christmas Stroll on the day after Thanksgiving – it’s one of the highlights of the season. They light the Christmas tree at the Commons in the center of town, then folks stroll through the shops downtown, warm up by the fire pits, and grab a cup of hot chocolate from one of the vendors on the streets. It’s a magical, Norman Rockwell atmosphere! What are some of the favorite Christmas events in your town?

Today’s outfit features this beautiful v-neck eyelash sweater from H&M. This sweater caught my eye because of the price ($24.99) and the softness. FYI – it runs large. I am usually a medium, but this is a small and it’s still a bit oversized.

You could wear this sweater many ways – picture it with a black leather pencil skirt, or a holiday red skirt. You could wear it with jeans, dressy black pants, or even some faux leather leggings. I chose to wear it with black skinny jeans from Old Navy – click here for the link. These are the black Rockstar skinny jeans.

I always need a pop of color, so I carried my Michael Kohrs cherry red handbag. This one is not available anymore, but I have linked similar bags in the widgets below.

I added a pearl and crystal statement necklace that is a couple years old from Ann Taylor, and added pearl drop earrings. My belt is old, but it adds a bit of sparkle to the outfit. My knee high boots are from DSW last year. I have linked similar options. You can click on any of the widgets below to shop directly.

Thanks for reading! I hope I have given you some inspiration to try some new outfit combinations. You don’t have to buy new either, shop your closet first – this outfit is a very neutral one and most of you probably have pieces in your closet that will work.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Debbie
